Lately

I haven't been eating bad but I haven't been eating well either. When I'm feeling like I really need a snack I drink a lot of water. If that doesn't work I reach for my trusty supply of Skinny Cow Ice Cream. Either the sandwich or cones. They are like 140 calories but it satisfies my cravings to get me through the evening. I've been trying to pack up all my pots and dishes so I'm not expecting to cook the next couple of days. I'll probably end up eating out since my microwave in my old house is broken. Anyway I'm going to start working out at the gym besides my twice a week workouts with Noel. Wish me luck.

what have I been doing?

I know.. I know... I haven't written a blog entry... because its been a horrible eating past week...

I do really well during the day....but since I am tired in the evening.. I usually reach for something bad! I blame it back on the caffeine. One cup a day sets me back (sleep terribly) which in turn makes me so tired before Roman goes to bed... so I reach for sweet or carbs!


I am guilty of eating these things this past week:
4 peanut butter cup cookies (damn those school fundraisers!)
1 sonic cake fudge sundae

on a positive note I have been doing well with the exercise.... I am not sure why I sabotage my working out by eating terrible desserts:(

Improvements

But I give my ass an A+. It's looking good! ;)

REALLY BAD!

So, I'm not going to go into detail but I was bad. Breakfast and Lunch were good. 250 for breakfast and 350 for lunch (it had 16g of protein) total for those two meals which would have been good but I totally ruined it. My friend Robin is in town so I dropped her off to have drinks with my boss because he's cool like that while I worked out with my trainer which is great but than I met up with them afterwards. I ended up having like four Gray Goose and tonics and ended up eating a grilled MahiMahi sandwich. That would have been ok but I ate fries with them. I totally ruined my whole workout and eating healthy but oh well. Drinking makes you do dumb things. BTW, I also had fried green tomatoes as an afternoon snack because I took Robin to eat lunch since she got in so late. All in all I give myself a big fat D for the day.

wellness at work

I have started taking advantage of a new state agency policy that grants us 30 minutes 3Xs a week for any wellness activity. My co-worker and I have been doing a 20-25 minute workout M/W/F for the last couple of weeks.. its going well. I usually eat lunch at my desk so I can leave early to pick up Roman. but this new short workout gives me a boost to make it thru the afternoon. our workouts vary from doing core work, to walking/running,.. we are going halfsies (sp?) on a medicine ball so we can really do some ab work......

food journal

today starting off good... I had the following for my 4 meals...

1 whole wheat waffle
1 tbsp cream cheese (fat free)

1 egg w/cheese
1 slice of ham

1 cup of strawberries, 1/2 cup blueberries
1 cup of cottage cheese

spring mix salad w/ carrots, tomatoes
1 tbl of ranch dressing

last meal was a bit of struggle to not pig out at Blue Star Cafeteria w/ my girlfriends
but thinking about today's workout going to waste made me think twice
so I ended up eating a oriental chicken salad w/ sesame dressing (no wontons for me!)
had two bites of key lime pie...so good!

and of course, I decided I needed a pomegranate champagne drink! I know I know bad move... but it was a girl's night out w/ no toddler or husband to rush the moments.... I know probably should of chosen something not so sugary...... mi culpa...

great exercise day!

I did pretty good today. I woke up dragging for my 5:30 am crossfit class but my the end felt ready to start my day.... not excited about watching what I ate, but excited to go back home to make breakfast for Roman and get him ready for school and of course to wake up my honey!

Crossfit workout this morning
5 rounds:
15 pull ups (jumping from a box for me)
15 ring dips (from a box for me)
250 m run

I forgot my time, but will start to keep track to see if I improve the next time I do this. after doing this, we had to do some core exercises
4 rounds of
15 ab pull ups (from a box for me, of course)
15 russian twists
15 scissors

First Post

Ok, today I didn't have breakfast but I did have a cup of coffee with half and half and real sugar. Normally I use turbinado sugar but I'm out at the office and yes I have breakfast at the office b/c I don't get into the office til about 9:30am. Normally I have a English muffin breakfast that has 250 calories but I got busy at work and instead waited til lunch and I had a Kashi frozen entree. It was only 250 calories and loaded with protein so I didn't feel bad. For my snack I had a Kashi bar which is about 120 calories. I got home and scrounged in the kitchen for something to eat before I went to do DeTodo the TV show. I made a sandwich with tomatoes, avocado, three slices of bacon and a slice of fresh mozzarella cheese. Not sure how many calories it was but it was satisfying and I didn't snack all night even with the muffin I was offered. I did however have three Diet Coke and Barcardi drinks. So there it is. Judge me. I am going to run in the morning with a friend and I'm working out with my trainer Noel in the evening tomorrow. Peace.
